Malt is the reference freelance marketplace in France, with 634,035 registered profiles. On the client side it sells three tiers priced as a percentage of the freelancer invoice: Starter at 5%, Advanced at 9%, Enterprise on request. The percentages are published; the plan prices are not. On the freelancer side the commission is 10% excluding VAT on a first assignment, 5% after six months with the same client, and 2% when the freelancer brings the client in.
What Malt does better than us, with no hedging: compliance. Every freelancer has their legal documents checked before an assignment can start, every project is covered by liability insurance up to €20 million, and Malt fronts the cash so the freelancer is paid within ten days even when you settle at 30 or 45. For a one-off need, for a skill we do not have, or when you want to pick a named person and see their portfolio, Malt is the right tool.
The limit is structural. Malt sells access, not output. The brief, the art direction, the prioritization and the consistency between two assignments all stay with you. At the €430 average day rate Malt itself publishes for designers and photographers, an ongoing need runs into thousands per month, and you still manage it.
